Walking through some light, cold rain in Tewkesbury town, I decided that a hot drink with a snack would fortify me. Just opposite, on the other side of the main street, I spied a deli whose atmosphere I’d enjoyed so much earlier this year I’d blogged about it.
I went in. There was a warm welcome. I was pleased to see a colour printout of my earlier blog, pinned above a table in the shop window.
I drank three cups of hot peppermint tea from a pretty china cup and saucer. The brew from the teapot tasted so good that I bought a box of similar tea bags.
The memory of the chilly drizzle outside evaporated, as I munched a couple of coconut macaroons while reading a motoring magazine which featured my dream car on its cover.
One day I’ll turn that dream into a reality.
